"The London Method as taught by the fabulous teacher Peter Blackwell, guides you in /the play. Employing this method and guided by Mr. Blackwell, the guesswork, fumblings and tepid acting will disappear. Mr. Blackwell's insight and knowledge of acting and the business is a true gift and I cannot strongly recommend this class enough for any actor serious about honing her craft with skills that will last your entire career."
"Peter's class is awesome! He pushes me to think outside the box, break the rules and be raw in my craft. I have noticed more confidence in my auditions, approach and ability."
|ABOUT THE LONDON METHOD
The London Method is scene study based on the style developed by Roy London.
The actor comes to class with knowledge of the full script or play since specific choices for the scene can’t be made without this information.
All aspects of the scene: props, blocking, etc., will be worked out and developed by the actor in rehearsal to reinforce and propel the objective chosen for the scene.
Every actor possesses the tools to perform one-of-a-kind work that changes lives. In this method the teacher doesn’t teach an actor. The teacher refines and sharpens gifts the actor already possesses and helps the actor recognize their “golden keys”.
"The teacher is a coach, the class is a gym, the scene is a competition. Every actor will realize results equal to the work they put in."
The Austin class is taught by Peter Blackwell who studied with Roy London the last 8 months Roy taught. Ivana Chubbuck taught the introductory class for Roy at that time. After Roy passed away Peter studied with Ivana for an additional 4 years. Peter also studied and performed at The Groundlings, Second City Conservatory and BANG! (LA based Second City Alumni).
The Los Angeles & Phoenix class is taught by veteran actor and coach Clayton Rohner.
